JBS Training Group Performance Carbine


Two Day Performance Rifle:

2 Day Performance Rifle is designed with the intention of correcting flaws in mechanics, manipulations, marksmanship, movement, and processing. This is not a beginner’s course. Attendees should have basic knowledge of weapon safety/handling, and at minimum, be able to hit the A zone of a full-sized IPSC silhouette at 25 yards with no time standard. Students will leave with the tools necessary to continue their journey on being the best rifle shooter they can be.

  • Dry fire practice and how to maximize return when practicing

  • Zeroing

  • Different shooting positions and techniques for maximum efficiency

  • Aiming and the breakdown of the relationship between sight
    alignment and sight picture

  • Reloading

  • Malfunction clearance

  • Managing recoil

  • Target transitions and processing

  • The presentation

  • Marksmanship (Trigger manipulation in sync with the optic)

  • Mental discipline applied to the gun

  • Speed and where it comes from

  • Secondary weapon transitions

  • Shot calling

  • Mechanics/Manipulations

  • Movement

Gear Required

  • Competition/Duty grade rifle (No bolt action/lever action)

  • Competition/Duty grade handgun. NO SUB-COMPACTS OR REVOLVERS

  • Competition/Duty grade holster. No FABRIC HOLSTERS ALLOWED

  • Minimum of 3 magazines for each weapon system

  • Pouches for magazines

  • Eye and ear protection (Electronic Ears Preferred)

  • Competition/Duty grade Sling (1 point or 2 point preferred)

  • Recommended 750 rifle rounds*

  • MINIMUM of 40 pistol rounds

  • Hydration and snacks for the day

  • Notebook and writing utensil

  • Rain gear as applicable

  • Knee and elbow pads if needed

  • Lubrication for weapon system

  • Note taking materials
